Reunited at Last: Arizona Teen Alicia Navarro Returns Home After Four-Year Disappearance

Alicia Navarro, the Arizona teenager who went missing in 2019 before reappearing four years later, has finally reunited with her family.

In a video shared on Facebook on November 1, Navarro's mother, Jessica Nunez, expressed her gratitude for the worldwide support and love her family has received during the challenging four years. Nunez also acknowledged the difficulties of their journey and celebrated the joy of having her family together once more.

Nunez's separate post emphasized her belief in the power of miracles and requested privacy for their family. A representative for the family confirmed to Fox 10 Phoenix that Navarro and her mother have been reunited after a lengthy separation.

Navarro had initially disappeared after running away from her Glendale home on September 15, 2019, at the age of 14. In July of this year, she informed authorities in Montana of her desire to be removed from the missing persons list, expressing her wish to start her adult life, as detailed in an arrest affidavit for Edmund Davis, a person associated with Navarro.

At a press conference in July, Glendale police spokesman Jose Santiago emphasized that Navarro had come to the police station voluntarily and had been cooperative with both local and federal law enforcement, according to Fox 10.

While a man linked to Navarro was briefly detained and questioned, his identity was not disclosed at that time, as reported by the Associated Press.

The case took a significant turn on October 24 when authorities arrested a man who had been residing with Navarro. Identified as 36-year-old Edmund Davis, he was charged with two felony counts of child abuse based on material found on his cellphone, according to a release from the Montana Attorney General's Office, as previously reported by PEOPLE.

There is no information available on whether Davis has entered a plea or retained legal representation to speak on his behalf. According to the affidavit, Navarro has autism, and neighbors had earlier informed the Associated Press that she had been living with Davis, whom authorities identified as her boyfriend, for approximately a year.

Authorities continue to investigate Navarro's disappearance, and as of now, no charges have been filed in relation to the case.
