Texas Woman's Appeals to Authorities Ignored Before Fatal Murder-Suicide By Her Husband, Beesham Ramroop

In a tragic incident, a 35-year-old Texas woman named Nityadevi Ramroop lost her life at the hands of her estranged husband, Beesham Ramroop, in Katy, Texas. Nityadevi, a mother of three, had been enduring a series of abusive acts and threats from Beesham, who had been her spouse for nearly 18 years.

The abuse escalated to the point where Nityadevi sought a divorce to escape the torment.

Nityadevi's lawyer, Uche Ohia, reveals that she had repeatedly informed the authorities about the abuse, stalking, and even vandalism of her car by Beesham.

Unfortunately, no charges were filed in response to her complaints. These incidents occurred across two jurisdictions, with the Harris County Sheriff's Office and the Fort Bend Sheriff's Office failing to take action.

One chilling incident involved Beesham following Nityadevi to a friend's house, where he was confronted by authorities, but no action was taken. In another instance, Beesham followed her to a bar, physically assaulting her and vandalizing her car. Despite having footage of the vandalism, the Fort Bend Sheriff's Department did not press charges against him.

As Nityadevi sought help from the Harris County Sheriff's Office, they advised her to contact her attorney when she reported being stalked by Beesham. The office has not yet responded to these claims.

Uche Ohia, who had been working with Nityadevi for about a year, emphasizes the physical and emotional abuse she endured during their long marriage.

He explains that Nityadevi approached him, sharing her fear that the abuse would escalate as she pursued a divorce. The situation was complicated by property and custody disputes between the couple, and Beesham had even threatened Nityadevi and those supporting her in her pursuit of her share of their marital estate.

Beesham's family members were also involved in harassing Nityadevi, frequently contacting her workplace and even following her to confront her. Despite these immense challenges, Nityadevi remained hopeful, discussing her plans to protect herself, her children, and start a new life.
