Woman Accused of Deliberately Driving Into Building Linked to Black Hebrew Israelites in Indianapolis

Authorities have apprehended a woman in Indiana, who they labeled as a "terrorist," for purportedly driving her car into what she believed was a Jewish school.

As per reports from Fox 59, Ruba Almaghtheh, 34, allegedly reversed her vehicle into a building connected to the Black Hebrew Israelites in Indianapolis late on Friday night while several adults and children were inside.

Almaghtheh admitted to intentionally targeting the building, which houses the Israelite School of Universal and Practical Knowledge, citing offense at a "Hebrew Israelite" symbol on the premises, as mentioned in a police report.

Almaghtheh reportedly affirmed her actions, repeatedly referring to the building as the "Israel school" and alluding to "her people back in Palestine." Notably, the Israelite School of Universal and Practical Knowledge falls under the umbrella of the Black Hebrew Israelites, according to the Anti-Defamation League.

In response to the incident, the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis stated that Safe Indiana, a Jewish community security program, is collaborating with law enforcement to investigate the matter.

The federation emphasized the significance of maintaining security measures, staying alert to suspicious activities, and promptly reporting any concerns to the relevant authorities, even though the Jewish facility was not the intended target due to a case of mistaken identity.

Law enforcement labeled Almaghtheh as a "terrorist" and arrested her on a preliminary charge of criminal recklessness. She is scheduled to appear in court for an initial hearing on Wednesday.
