Family Torn Apart: Son Confesses to Shooting Mother, Grandmother in Domestic Dispute

Tragedy struck a Texas family after a 26-year-old man, Louis Lamar Simpson Jr., was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing both his mother and grandmother in their Killeen home. The horrific incident unfolded on December 8th, leaving authorities piecing together a harrowing sequence of events.

First responders rushed to the scene following a 911 call at 1:34 p.m., reporting a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, they encountered Simpson exiting the residence and heard screams from within. Detained for suspicious behavior and carrying a firearm, Simpson later confessed to the shootings.

Authorities found both victims, Simpson's mother, Tina McGruder (53), and grandmother, Deanne McGruder (75), suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite receiving medical attention, both unfortunately succumbed to their injuries before 3 p.m.

Simpson's alleged confession revealed a chilling tale of conflict and motive. He admitted to arguing with his mother earlier that day and acknowledging being in possession of the weapon. While remorseful about not aiming for "head shots," he reportedly stated his intent to prevent anyone from stopping him. Furthermore, he blamed his mother for a previous incarceration, citing it as the "worst mistake" she could have made.

Adding another layer of shock, Simpson confessed to considering shooting the first responding officer but chose not to due to the perceived threat. He allegedly placed the blame for both deaths solely on his mother.

Currently held in the Bell County Jail on a $3 million bond, Simpson awaits his fate in the face of capital murder charges. This heartbreaking double homicide highlights the devastating consequences of domestic violence and leaves a community grappling with loss and unanswered questions.
