Game of Thrones Actor Faces Charges of Online S3xual Contact with a Minor

Los Angeles, CA - Joseph Gatt, a British actor best known for his role as Thenn Warg in the popular HBO series Game of Thrones, appeared in court on Monday, December 4, to face charges of having s3xually explicit contact online with a minor.

Gatt, 51, appeared at the Los Angeles Superior Court alongside his longtime girlfriend, actress and writer Mercy Malick. LA Superior Court Judge Kim Nguyen ordered Gatt to return to court for a preliminary hearing on December 18, when prosecutors are expected to present evidence allegedly found at Gatt's LA home.

Gatt was arrested in April 2022 and his home was searched by police officers of the Juvenile Division, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, armed with a search warrant. He was charged with 'contact with a minor for sexual offense' and also faces a second charge of felony possession of an assault weapon.

Gatt has pleaded not guilty to both charges. He was granted $5,000 bail but was also ordered not to have unsupervised time with minors, not to possess pornography, and not to use social media, except for work.

Gatt has vehemently denied the charges, calling them "absolutely horrifying and completely untrue." He has stated that he is cooperating with police and is "looking forward to clearing [his] good name."

Gatt's girlfriend, Mercy Malick, has also spoken out in support of her partner, calling the allegations "beyond insane."

Gatt's most high-profile role was playing Thenn Warg on the hugely popular HBO series Game Of Thrones. His character was a member of the Thenn, a tribe of Free Folk known for their practices of ritual self-scarring and cannibalism. After appearing in several episodes of season four in 2014, his character was killed off in the Battle of Castle Black.

Gatt's court case is ongoing and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
