Rapper Kodak Black Arrested in South Florida on Cocaine Possession Charges

Kodak Black, a well-known rapper, was recently arrested in South Florida on charges of cocaine possession and other offenses. According to official records, Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, was booked into the Broward County jail on Thursday, December 7th, 2023. He faces charges of possessing cocaine, attempting to tamper with evidence, and improperly parking his vehicle.
The arrest took place in Plantation, Florida, after an officer spotted a black Bentley SUV parked illegally on a residential street. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer found Black asleep in the driver's seat and detected a strong smell of marijuana coming from inside.

After waking Black, the officer observed a cup containing alcohol, along with cigarette papers and suspected cannabis residue, inside the car. When questioned about the presence of illegal substances, Black initially admitted to having marijuana but denied possessing anything else.

However, shortly after, the officer noticed white powder falling from Black's clothing. Believing Black was trying to discard illegal narcotics, the officer approached him and noticed a white powder-filled mouth. Black was then handcuffed, and further investigation revealed white rock-like substances on the ground, which Black claimed were Percocet. Subsequent testing confirmed the substance to be cocaine.

Black was also found to be in possession of a small plastic bag containing an unknown substance, which is currently being tested. Additionally, the officer noted that the Bentley sustained significant damage to the front passenger side, suggesting a possible recent accident.

This latest arrest marks yet another legal entanglement for the 26-year-old rapper, who has faced multiple brushes with the law in South Florida in recent years. In July 2022, he was arrested in Fort Lauderdale after a routine traffic stop revealed oxycodone pills and a large sum of cash in his car. He was also driving with an expired license and registration at the time.

Furthermore, a warrant was issued for Black in early 2023 for failing to comply with a mandatory drug and alcohol test. A subsequent test confirmed the presence of Fentanyl in his system, leading to the revocation of his release and the issuance of an arrest warrant. However, Black was later allowed to attend a 30-day drug treatment program by a Broward judge.

Black's legal troubles also include a 2022 trespassing charge in Pompano Beach and, perhaps most notably, a 2020 three-year federal prison sentence for falsifying documents to purchase firearms. This sentence was commuted by then-President Donald Trump on his last day in office, allowing Black to be released after serving half of his sentence.

The current charges against Black remain pending, and further details about the case are expected to be released in the coming days. It remains to be seen how this latest incident will impact his legal standing and future career.
