The body discovered in a Los Angeles dumpster in November has been confirmed to belong to Mei Haskell, the wife of the suspect accused of her and her parents' murder, as reported by multiple sources.
Identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Mei's death, marked on Nov. 8, coincided with the day a torso was located in an Encino dumpster, suspected to be hers.
Reports from NBC Los Angeles, KTLA, and CBS News affirm the medical examiner's conclusion linking the recovered torso to Mei Haskell.
The accused, Samuel "Sam" Haskell IV, faces allegations of killing his 37-year-old wife along with her parents, Gaoshan Li, 72, and Yanxiang Wang, 64, last seen on Nov. 6, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.
While the bodies of Li and Wang remain undiscovered, authorities claim that on Nov. 7, Sam hired day laborers to discard four substantial trash bags, one of which was opened by a laborer revealing body parts. The following day, it's alleged that Sam was seen disposing of another bag containing a human torso.
Sam is currently held without bail and faces three murder charges, with a court appearance scheduled for January 12. As of now, it's unclear if he has entered a plea, and his legal representation remains unreachable according to PEOPLE.
Sam, the son of a former Hollywood agent who represented stars like George Clooney and Whoopi Goldberg, lived with Mei and their three sons in Tarzana since 2020. The news of Mei's fate shocked the peaceful Tarzana neighborhood, where she was known for her dedication to her children, as described by a neighbor in a November interview with PEOPLE.
