Fast Food Fury:Tempers Flare in High Point McDonald's as Pastor is Accused of Shoving Cook into Deep Fryer

A North Carolina pastor allegedly lost his cool at a McDonald's after hearing his wife, in training to become a manager, was being disrespected by employees. Dwayne Waden, 57, now faces assault charges for the incident that unfolded on December 28th at the High Point eatery.

Waden's wife, upset by the alleged disrespect, called him for help. Police reports obtained by Law&Crime detail the accusations, suggesting Waden choked, hit, and shoved the 34-year-old cook towards the fryers in a heated confrontation. Witnesses backed up this account, claiming Waden entered the kitchen, circled the counter, and grabbed the cook's neck before pushing his head towards the hot oil.

"He [Waden] also punched the victim several times in the face and wouldn't stop until employees intervened," the police report states. Luckily, the cook, hospitalized after the attack, suffered mainly bruised eyes and scratches on his neck.

Released on bond, Waden offered his version of events to local news outlets. He claims the cook approached him aggressively after his wife left, prompting a physical altercation. "He got in my face, and I pushed him back," Waden told reporters. "It escalated quickly, and things got slippery – literally! We ended up on the floor grappling, and that's when the punches started flying."

Meanwhile, McDonald's prioritized employee safety, confirming the wife's termination and reaffirming their commitment to a secure environment. Waden's wife maintained her husband's innocence, insisting he only intervened due to her claims of verbal abuse.

The pastor is scheduled to face court on January 22nd, leaving many to wonder: did righteous anger boil over, or was this an overreaction to workplace drama?
