Oklahoma Dad Flees Crash Scene After Deadly Accident Claims Teenage Daughter

A father in Bixby, Oklahoma, faces heart-wrenching charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a car crash that tragically took the life of his own teenage daughter, Shelby Binney. This devastating accident has shaken the community and left questions hanging in the air.

On the night of January 11th, tragedy struck when police responded to a car crash. They found 16-year-old Shelby, a cheerleader beloved by her teammates, ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the hospital. Her father, Elliot Binney, was identified as the driver but reportedly vanished from the scene before officers arrived.

Police launched a search and, with the help of electronic tracking, apprehended Binney later. Witnesses claimed he was speeding at 70 mph and ignored a no-passing zone before the crash. Adding to the complexity of the case, investigators allegedly found an open bottle of vodka near the wreckage, and Binney admitted to drinking while driving.

He now faces serious charges, including first-degree manslaughter, leaving the scene of a fatal accident, and violating traffic laws. While he was released on bond, the community grapples with the immense pain of Shelby's loss.

Tributes pour in for the young woman, describing her as a "bright light" and a "hard working athlete" with a "heart of gold." A GoFundMe campaign has also been set up to support the grieving family.

As the investigation unfolds, unanswered questions remain about the circumstances surrounding the crash and the reasons behind Binney's alleged flight from the scene. This tragic case serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of reckless driving and the importance of making responsible choices behind the wheel.
