A man from California, Sergio Colin-Gomez, aged 24, has been arrested and accused of murder following the tragic shooting of a 3-year-old boy, Ivan, who was the son of his pregnant girlfriend. Authorities reported that Colin-Gomez allegedly shot Ivan in the head while pressuring his girlfriend to admit to infidelity. The incident occurred late in the evening of February 19 at their shared residence in Santa Clara.
According to reports, Colin-Gomez, who was not the biological father of the child, confronted his girlfriend about infidelity suspicions after the child had fallen asleep. Despite a temporary calm, tensions escalated when Colin-Gomez abruptly accused her again during a movie they were watching together.
Fearing for her safety, the woman sought refuge in her son's room, where Colin-Gomez allegedly broke in and brandished a gun while continuing to accuse her.
