Man Jailed for Setting Ex-Partner's Flat on Fire in Attempted Murder

A London man, Harry Owusu-Manu (39), has been jailed for attempting to murder his ex-partner and her children by setting fire to her flat.

The horrific incident unfolded in the early hours of April 25, 2023, in Battersea, London.

Owusu-Manu, who had been harassing his ex-partner online, went a terrifying step further by deliberately setting fire to her flat door. The fire quickly engulfed the flat, putting the woman, her young daughter, and her unborn child in grave danger.

Thankfully, they were all treated for smoke inhalation but suffered significant damage to their home and belongings, including essential baby items.

Detectives launched a swift investigation and, within hours of the fire, arrested Owusu-Manu. Despite his attempts to mislead investigators, including spray-painting a security camera black, their meticulous work uncovered the truth.
