Michigan Man Arrested for Allegedly Shooting and Killing His Ex-girlfriend, Veronica Crain

19-year-old Veronica Crain was found shot and killed behind the front desk of a hotel in Canton, Michigan. Her ex-boyfriend, 23-year-old Joseph Slocum Jr., was found injured in a car accident shortly after.

Authorities believe Slocum shot Crain before fleeing the scene and getting into the car accident. They also say Crain was trying to leave the relationship with Slocum, highlighting the dangers of domestic violence situations when victims attempt to end them.

Veronica's mother shared her grief on Facebook, remembering her daughter as her "first love" and "guardian angel." A GoFundMe page was created to help cover funeral expenses.
