Troy Phillip Bohling has supposedly admitted to doing something very bad - he said he did terrible things to two women less than a year ago near a famous castle in Germany.
This happened on June 14, 2023, when Eva Liu, who was 21, sadly died, and another woman named Kelsey Chang, who was 22, got hurt, as reported by The Telegraph.
Bohling's lawyer, Philip Mueller, said that his client did a very bad thing, according to the Associated Press. Bohling, who is from America, didn't say much during the court session but confirmed that what his lawyer said was true. In Germany, people accused of crimes don't usually say if they're guilty or not.
Mueller also told the court that Bohling didn't plan to do what he did - he acted without thinking. Mueller said Bohling felt very bad about what he did.
This news comes a few months after Bohling was charged with many serious crimes, including murder, rape, and having illegal pictures of children. The court will probably decide what will happen to him by mid-March.
Bohling met the two women while they were hiking near the castle, which inspired Disney's Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella movies. They were on a trip after graduating from the University of Illinois.
He told the women he wanted to take pictures of the castle and led them to a spot. But instead of taking pictures, he hurt Liu and allegedly raped her. When Chang tried to help, he pushed her down a steep slope.
He kept raping Liu and filmed it. Then he choked her and pushed her down the slope again, even though she was unconscious.
Both women fell in the same place, but Chang survived, and Liu died that night.
During the investigation, the police found out that Bohling had bad pictures on his laptop and phone.
