Family Sues After Young Woman Loses Life After a BBL Surgery

A young mother's life was tragically cut short following a cosmetic surgery in Miami.

Erica Russell, a 33-year-old mother of five from Tennessee, underwent a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) in June 2021.

The surgery took place at a Miami clinic, and according to the family's lawsuit, the doctor who performed it, Dr. John Sampson, allegedly wasn't authorized to operate at that facility.

Sadly, complications arose during the procedure, and Erica passed away later that night.  Her family is now suing the doctor and the clinic, claiming negligence and a lack of proper care.

The lawsuit alleges that Dr. Sampson made mistakes during the surgery and had already seen several other patients that day, working an extensive 14-hour shift before operating on Erica.

Furthermore, the family claims they were misled into believing Dr. Sampson had the necessary qualifications to perform the surgery.

Erica's family is heartbroken by this immense loss and is seeking to hold those involved accountable for their actions.

They hope to prevent similar tragedies from happening to others in the future.
