A shocking incident has unfolded in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, leaving the community shaken.
According to multiple reports, police arrested a 30-year-old man, Zak Moyer, in connection with the death of his neighbor, Edward Whitehead Jr., aged 59.
The disturbing details emerged when authorities responded to a call at a residence in Lehighton on Monday.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Mr. Whitehead with multiple injuries inflicted by a knife and a battery-operated chainsaw, as reported by Trooper Anthony Petroski of the Pennsylvania State Police.
Surveillance footage reportedly captured the suspect, dressed entirely in black and wearing a mask resembling the iconic character from the "Scream" horror movies.

Following the attack, Mr. Moyer allegedly fled to the house next door to Mr. Whitehead's residence, as per court documents cited by the aforementioned news outlets.

A neighbor's video reviewed by WFMZ revealed that Mr. Moyer supposedly communicated with officers outside using notes displayed on a window.
These notes reportedly contained accusations against Mr. Whitehead, although the nature of those accusations remains unclear.
Police have confirmed to Lehighvalleylive.com that these allegations are not being investigated at this time.
Adding another layer of tragedy, court records show that Mr. Moyer's sister reportedly stated he had spoken about harming Mr. Whitehead a week prior to the incident, as reported by WFMZ and Lehighvalleylive.com.
Mr. Moyer is scheduled for arraignment in April. As of Wednesday afternoon, court records indicated he has no listed attorney.
