Three-year-old Elijah Vue has been missing since February 20, 2024.
Police believe he may have been neglected by both his mother, Katrina Baur, and her boyfriend, Jesse Vang.
New details have emerged about Elijah's living situation before he disappeared.
According to court documents, Baur would leave Elijah with Vang for long periods to "teach him how to be a man."
Both Baur and Vang now face criminal charges.
Vang is charged with a serious crime called "chronic neglect of a child."
Baur is charged with a similar crime, as she is accused of being involved in Vang's actions.
Police Search for Answers
Authorities are still searching for Elijah.
In March, police found a red and white blanket belonging to Elijah nearly 4 miles from Vang's home.
Vang claims he fell asleep while watching Elijah and woke up to find him missing.
However, police suspect Vang's story may not be true.
Investigators believe Vang may have used harsh punishments on Elijah, including long "time outs" where he had to stand for hours.
Baur reportedly told police she discussed discipline with Vang and wanted him to enforce the rules.

Cause for Concern
The day after Baur last saw Elijah, Vang texted her complaining about the boy's diaper.
The complaint alleges Vang gave Elijah a "cold shower" as punishment.
Vang told police he used cold showers as a scare tactic because Elijah was afraid of them.
Investigators believe Vang may have had a controlling relationship with Elijah, who was reportedly scared of him.
Vang and Baur have not yet entered pleas to the charges.
Their next court appearances are scheduled for April 16th and April 26th, respectively.
