Woman Tortured and Killed After Visiting "Friend" in Pennsylvania

Nicole Cuevas-Ingram, a 38-year-old woman from Saginaw, Michigan, traveled to Pennsylvania in 2023 to visit someone she believed to be a friend.

Sadly, this trusting visit turned into a horrific nightmare.

According to Luzerne County District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce, Cuevas-Ingram was held captive, tortured, and eventually killed by the person she visited and four others living at the same residence on 142 Carlisle Street in Wilkes-Barre.

Her remains were discovered in the basement of the house on February 27th, 2024.

The body was wrapped in a tarp, bound with electrical cords and rope, and the head was covered in plastic bags.

Investigators believe she was buried in April 2023 after enduring unimaginable suffering.

The district attorney alleges that Cuevas-Ingram was deceived into believing her visit was safe. "She came for a visit and tried to get home, but unfortunately, her captors wouldn't let her leave," Sanguedolce stated.

Five individuals have been arrested in connection with this case: Desiree Linnette (43) and her daughter Sarai Doyle (24) from Edwardsville, Jason Race (43) and Faith Beamer (39) from Wilkes-Barre, and William Wolfe (54).

These five suspects are facing serious charges, including homicide, conspiracy to commit murder, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and abuse of a corpse.

The details surrounding Cuevas-Ingram's captivity are truly disturbing.

The district attorney alleges she was held handcuffed to a basement pole for weeks and subjected to brutal beatings.

These beatings resulted in a broken ankle, fractured ribs, a destroyed nasal cavity, and numerous stab and slash wounds. Investigators believe she was also strangled.

Court documents obtained by the Times Leader reveal a witness who saw Cuevas-Ingram in the house with a shaved head and drooling.

The documents further detail a horrific incident where Cuevas-Ingram soiled herself while handcuffed.

This reportedly enraged Linnette and Race, with Race allegedly stomping on Cuevas-Ingram's head until she died.

The investigation isn't over. Authorities are looking into the possible connection between this case and the death of another woman, Deborah Fox, 69.

Fox was the previous owner of the house where Cuevas-Ingram was held captive. Her decomposed remains were found in a wooded area near Wilkes-Barre on March 26th, 2024.

The investigation into both deaths is ongoing.

All five suspects are being held without bail.

Police are urging anyone with information about the past residents of the property or details regarding the remains to contact the Wilkes-Barre Police Detective Division.
