Ex-Nurse, Heather Pressdee Receives Life Sentence for Patient Deaths After Pleading Guilty to Killing them with Fatal Insulin Doses

A former Pennsylvania nurse, Heather Pressdee, has been sentenced to life in prison after admitting to killing and attempting to kill multiple patients under her care. 

Pressdee, a 41-year-old resident of Natrona Heights, pleaded guilty on May 2nd to three counts of first-degree murder and 19 counts of attempted murder.  

According to Attorney General Michelle Henry, Pressdee's crimes began in 2020 and spanned four counties – Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, and Westmoreland.  

She is accused of deliberately giving lethal or potentially lethal doses of insulin to a total of 22 patients in various nursing facilities.

The victims, ranging in age from 43 to 104, were entrusted to Pressdee’s care.  

Their families now face the unimaginable grief of losing loved ones in such a cruel manner.  

A judge in Butler County delivered the sentence, condemning Pressdee to life in prison for the murders and an additional 380 to 760 years for the attempted murders.

"This trusted healthcare professional abused her position to harm the very people she was sworn to help," stated Attorney General Henry.  

"While this sentence cannot bring the victims back, it ensures Pressdee will never have the chance to inflict more suffering."

Expressing her deepest condolences to the families, Attorney General Henry also commended the law enforcement officials whose tireless investigation exposed Pressdee's crimes.  

She further shared a photo of the victims on social media, a poignant reminder of the lives tragically cut short.

One victim's family member described Pressdee in court as "pure evil," a sentiment echoed by others who lost loved ones to her actions.  

The pain and anger are undeniable, leaving families to seek solace wherever they can find it.

Pressdee's employment history paints a disturbing picture.  

Records show she worked at numerous facilities since 2018, often leaving under a cloud of disciplinary actions.  

These actions reportedly stemmed from abusive behavior towards patients and staff.

This case raises serious concerns about potential gaps in the healthcare system that allowed Pressdee to move from facility to facility despite red flags in her past.
