Alabama School Official, Keante Harris Implicated in Decade-Old Triple Murder

Listen to this story below

A shocking development rocked communities in Alabama and Georgia this week.

Keante Harris, a 45-year-old assistant principal at McAdory Middle School in Jefferson County, Alabama, was arrested on three counts of malice murder.

The charges stem from a gruesome triple homicide that occurred in Clayton County, Georgia, eleven years ago.

Authorities began piecing together the puzzle back in January 2013 when a routine patrol by Union City police officers led them to a suspicious sight: a 2010 Dodge Charger abandoned near Interstate 85.

Upon closer inspection, a horrifying discovery awaited them – three bodies lay lifeless inside the vehicle.

The investigation quickly revealed a sinister plot.

The victims, identified as Quinones King (33), Rodney Cottrell (43), and Cheryl Colquitt-Thompson (32), had been subjected to brutal torture and murder in Clayton County before being transported and dumped in Fulton County.

Medical examiners determined King and Cottrell died from asphyxiation in the back seat, while Colquitt-Thompson succumbed to strangulation in the trunk.

Reconstruction of events suggests the victims were lured under false pretenses to a residence on Magnolia Drive in Jonesboro, Georgia.

There, they were held captive at gunpoint before being forced into the Dodge Charger and driven to their final resting place in Fulton County.

The arrest of Keante Harris wasn't an isolated incident.

Three other suspects – Kevin Harris, Kenneth Thompson, and Darrell Harris – were also apprehended across three different states.

All four face identical charges of triple murder.

Authorities haven't confirmed any familial connection between the three Harris individuals.

The Jefferson County School District, where Harris served as an assistant principal, responded swiftly.

A statement released on Friday confirmed Harris's arrest and subsequent administrative leave.

The district emphasized that they're actively gathering information but early indications suggest these charges are unrelated to his employment.

This case raises a multitude of questions.

How did a trusted school official become embroiled in such a heinous crime? What motivated this horrific act of violence?

As the investigation unfolds, communities grapple with shock and a yearning for answers.
