Johnny Wactor, a well-known actor recognized for his extensive role in nearly 200 episodes of "General Hospital," has tragically passed away, as reported by TMZ.
According to Johnny's mother, Scarlett, he was shot and killed in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning.
Scarlett told TMZ that Johnny was with a coworker when they noticed three men tampering with his car.
While authorities haven't released his name, the details match an incident involving three suspects who allegedly attempted to steal a catalytic converter.
Scarlett mentioned that Johnny did not try to confront or stop the men, but they shot him anyway before fleeing the scene.
Police records indicate that paramedics arrived shortly after 3 AM PT, but despite their efforts, Johnny was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The police have not yet provided descriptions of the suspects, but Johnny's mother is hopeful they will be apprehended soon.
Johnny began his acting career in 2007 on the popular Lifetime show "Army Wives," where he played various roles.
Over the next two decades, he built a steady career with significant credits in shows like "Westworld," "The OA," "NCIS," "Station 19," "Criminal Minds," and "Hollywood Girl."
Many fans will remember Johnny for his role as Brando Corbin on "General Hospital," where he was married to the character Sasha Corbin, a drug addict in the series.
He portrayed Brando from 2020 until his character was written out in 2022.
Scarlett fondly remembers her son as a loving young man, expressing that his untimely death has left an enormous void in their family.
Johnny is survived by his mother Scarlett and his younger brothers, Lance and Grant. He was 37 years old.
