A gruesome discovery in Pennsylvania has led to a shocking arrest.

Police believe a man murdered his roommate, dismembered the body, and scattered the remains across several locations.

The victim, identified as 37-year-old David Hittinger, was found in pieces throughout Slatington, Pennsylvania.

Body parts were discovered along a hiking trail, in a cemetery, and even in a quarry, according to local news reports.

The alarm was raised when a friend reported Hittinger missing.

The timing was particularly concerning as it coincided with his birthday, making his absence even more unusual.

Authorities launched an investigation, focusing their initial search on Hittinger's recent living situation.

This led them to his roommate, 33-year-old Joshua Moser.

A search of Moser's residence yielded disturbing evidence.

Police found hair, a large amount of blood, and disturbingly gruesome tools, including a saw and a boxcutter.

Bloodstains were also present on clothing found within the home.

Investigative details reveal attempts to conceal the crime scene, with reports suggesting Moser's basement had been hastily cleaned in an apparent effort to hide blood evidence.

Moser was swiftly apprehended and charged with a series of offenses, including murder, abuse of the victim's body, and tampering with evidence.

While in custody, Moser reportedly confessed to killing Hittinger.

The alleged murder involved strangulation and blunt force trauma inflicted with a hammer in Moser's basement.

As of now, authorities haven't publicly disclosed the official cause of death or the motive behind the horrific act.

Additionally, information regarding legal representation for Moser is unavailable.
