Decomposed Remains Found in Kentucky Believed to be Missing 8-Month-Old Miya Rudd, Police Say

Kentucky State Police detectives have discovered the decomposed body of a baby they believe to be Miya Rudd, an 8-month-old girl missing for several weeks.

The discovery was made in an Ohio County residence in western Kentucky, where police found the infant's body concealed.

State police stated that the remains were hidden in a manner that matched Miya's description.

The body has been sent to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville for an autopsy to confirm the identity and cause of death.

The search for Miya began more than a week ago when relatives reported they hadn't seen her since late April.

During the investigation, police located Miya's parents, Tesla Tucker, 29, and Cage Rudd, 30, at a hotel without their daughter.

Both parents, along with Miya’s paternal grandparents, were arrested earlier this month.

They face charges of child abuse, abandonment, and several drug offenses.

Attempts to reach the attorney representing Tucker and Rudd for comment were unsuccessful on Friday evening.

Additionally, Miya's maternal grandparents were arrested on Wednesday due to outstanding warrants. State police also arrested another man on Thursday on several drug charges.

This individual had previously lived at the Rudd residence.
