DNA results just confirmed that a severed arm found in Waukegan belonged to 19-year-old Sade Robinson who was murdered and dismembered.
On Tuesday, Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek announced that the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the identity through DNA testing.
Sade Robinson was reported missing in Milwaukee on April 2, 2024.
She has now been identified as a victim of a heinous crime which occurred under Milwaukee County’s jurisdiction.
Since the arm's discovery, the Lake County Coroner’s Office has been working closely with the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.
The confirmation of the DNA match was relayed to Robinson’s family on Tuesday by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.
“On behalf of the Lake County Coroner’s Office, I want to express our sincere condolences to Sade’s family and friends who continue to endure this tragic loss,” said Coroner Banek.
The incident began on the evening of May 11 when the Waukegan Police Department responded to a report of a human arm found at Waukegan Municipal Beach.
A passerby walking along the beach discovered what they believed to be a human arm next to a fallen tree trunk.
Officers arrived at the scene and confirmed the arm was mostly intact from the shoulder down.
The arm was then transported to the coroner’s office for examination by a forensic pathologist, with further study by a forensic anthropologist.
DNA samples were collected and analyzed, leading to the positive identification.
According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, Robinson was murdered and dismembered after a date with 33-year-old Maxwell S. Anderson at the Twisted Fisherman restaurant in Milwaukee.
She went missing shortly after their date.
A criminal complaint filed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office accuses Anderson of intentionally killing Robinson, mutilating her remains, and setting her car on fire to destroy evidence.
Surveillance footage showed the pair at the restaurant bar, eating and drinking together before leaving about an hour later.
Subsequent discoveries included a severed leg at Warnimont Park in Cudahy, Wisconsin, and a severed foot in a wooded area near 31st Street and Galena in Milwaukee.
Sade’s mother, Sheena Scarbrough, expressed her devastation, saying she feels as though her “heart is being cut out” with each new piece of distressing information.
Scarbrough is tormented by thoughts of where her daughter’s head and the rest of her body might be.
Anderson faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and arson.
Scarbrough demands justice, urging Anderson to confess and his parents to bring him forward.
“I want my daughter’s remains,” she pleaded. “I have anxiously waited 79 days without knowing my child’s whereabouts.”
