A tragic incident unfolded in Shelby County, Kentucky, where Michael Hunt, 32, stands accused of fatally shooting his wife, Emily Hunt, 33, and her mother, Heather Simmons, 56.
According to authorities, Hunt informed the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office that he had a mission to harm both women.
Law enforcement responded to reports of gunfire in the Cropper area around 8:40 p.m. on Friday.
Initially directed to the Baptist Church where Hunt claimed a shooting had occurred, officers later located the victims at 201 Pleasureville Road.
Inside the residence, they discovered one woman deceased with a gunshot wound to the head and another woman injured on the second floor, who later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The victims, identified as Emily Hunt and Heather Simmons, were tragically caught in this violent act.
Michael Hunt, reportedly found with blood-stained clothing during his arrest, has a documented history including prior charges related to drugs, DUI, and disorderly conduct.
Hunt now faces charges of murder and attempted murder, with his arraignment scheduled for 1 p.m. on June 25.
