Two Women Charged After Killing 'Sugar Daddy' and Cutting Off His Thumb to Steal His Money

Police in Washington, D.C., have charged two women with murder for allegedly killing a man who witnesses said was their "sugar daddy."

Audrey Miller, 19, and Tiffany Taylor Gray, 22, are also accused of cutting off the man's thumb inorder to keep using his accounts.

Miller and Gray were arrested separately while police were looking for suspects in the fatal stabbing of 53-year-old Fasil Teklemariam.

Police said Teklemariam was found dead with multiple stab wounds and a number of other injuries inside the bedroom of his apartment on April 5.

One of Teklemariam's injuries was a missing right thumb, which was cut off either during or after the murder, according to the arrest affidavit for Miller and Gray.

They are two of five suspects listed in the affidavit.

The other suspects are men.

Police identified one of them as 34-year-old Tommy Whack, who was charged in May regarding the case.

Police said in the affidavit they found "evidence suggesting that cleaning agents had been used to conceal and/or eliminate evidence to conceal or obscure the actions of the suspect or suspects who had committed the offense."

Some evidence remained at the scene, including footprints.

CCTV footage from the lobby of Teklemariam's apartment building showed both suspects were there on the night he was killed.

His body was not found until several days later.

The footage also captured three of the suspects, including Gray, coming back around 2 a.m. on April 3, supposedly to steal several items from Teklemariam.

Pictures from the video footage showed several individuals wearing hooded sweatshirts and masks.

They are shown entering the building carrying bags and boxes, and later leaving with their hands full of various items.

In addition to the victim's thumb, police also said Teklemariam's "cellphone, tablet, or any other such electronic device" remain missing.

A witness who was romantically involved with one of the suspects recognized them.

The witness told police that Gray had been to Teklemariam's apartment building at least two times before and described him as her "sugar daddy."

The witness told investigators that the suspects cut off the victim's thumb and he also mentioned hearing about the victim being stabbed.

Police said the witness reported seeing Gray using Teklemariam's missing thumb to withdraw money from his account, pay for rides, and buy alcohol and other things.

The witness told authorities that Gray may have used Cash App accounts to collect money from Teklemarian as well.

Teklemariam had reported a theft involving Gray, accusing her of being involved in the disappearance of his phone and $1,600 in charges to his Cash App account, according to the police.

Gray and Miller both face charges of armed felony murder in the first degree in connection with Teklemariam's death.
