A brazilian woman, Júlia Cathermol is accused of poisoning her boyfriend.
Luiz Ormond's neighbors called the police when they notticed a foul odor coming from his apartment in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
When the authorities arrived, they found Luiz dead and in an advanced state of decomposition.
The autopsy did not reveal the exact cause of death, but traces of chocolate were found in Luiz's digestive system.
The police suspect that his girlfriend, Júlia Cathermol, poisoned him.
She was caught on camera with Luiz in the elevator, holding a plate of brigadeiros, a popular Brazilian dessert.
Investigators suspect that the brigadeiros she held while kissing him in the elevator were laced with drugs.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that she killed him to inherit his money and settle a debt she owed.
Suyany Breschak, who was a friend of Cathermol, was identified as her accomplice.
She allegedly assisted her in disposing of the body.
While in custody, she gave a statement to the police.
She confessed that Cathermol had laced the dessert with 50 crushed morphine tablets, which she had purchased from a pharmacy nine days earlier.
Luiz’s body was found on the floor of his apartment, with several fans pointed toward an open window.
The police suspect that Cathermol stayed with his body over the weekend and left on Monday morning with several suitcases.
In his statement, the doorman of Luiz's building mentioned that Luiz seemed to be under the influence of medication or drugs the last time he saw him.
He also said that Cathermol looked nervous and had told him her boyfriend was "sick in bed at home."
Detective Marcos Buss described the case as particularly chilling due to the suspect's extreme coldness.
"It's an aberrant case because it shows extreme coldness," Buss said.
"She remained inside the victim's apartment, with the corpse, for around three or four days. She slept next to the corpse, fed herself, even went down to the gym to exercise, and then returned to the apartment where the corpse was located."
