Deadly Love Triangle: The Grisly Murder of Jonathan Amerault and the Barrons’ Arrest

A love triangle ended in tragedy, leading to the arrest of a couple in New Hampshire for murder.

Britany Barron, 31, and Armando Barron, 30, were taken into custody in connection with the murder of 25-year-old Jonathan Amerault.

Authorities allege that the couple murdered the victim after the husband discovered he was having an affair with his wife.

His body was found in Coos County according to a press release from New Hampshire State Police.

Armando is accused of luring Amerault to a Park on the night of September 19, 2020, where he allegedly shot him fatally.

An autopsy report concluded that Amerault died from a gunshot wound to the head.

The Fatal Love Triangle

The Barrons and Amerault are believed to have been involved in a love triangle that turned deadly.

Britany reportedly told police that she was having an affair with Amerault, who was her co-worker at a medical supply company.

She said that when Amerault arrived at the park, Armando allegedly brandished a gun and ordered Amerault to get into his car.

She claimed that Armando then instructed her to cut Amerault's wrists, and she obeyed.

He then allegedly shot Amerault three times, twice in the chest and once in the head, killing him.

Britany said that her husband wanted her to kill Amerault, but when she refused to do it, he took the gun and shot Amerault himself.

Britany said that after the shooting, her husband bought some items to help dispose of the body and evidence.

He also allegedly took her to a wooded area, where he forced her to cut off Amerault's head so that his dental records could not be used to identify him.

She said they then buried Amerault's head and his body separately.

Britany claimed that her husband destroyed Amerault's phone after they buried him.

He then instructed her to text her loved ones, saying she was going to New Mexico for a while to start afresh.

He then left Britany at the Campsite and left.

The Aftermath

Amerault was reported missing on September 21 after he did not show up for work.

Also, his loved ones hadn't heard from him for over a week and were very concerned.

A few days later, Amerault's body was found by the police after two conservation officers found Britany at a campsite in Errol.

When they told her she was not allowed to camp there, the officers noticed something hidden under a tarp.

It was later revealed to be Amerault's car.

Authorities later returned to the campsite for further investigation.

There, they found drag marks in the mud and found what appeared to be a human body wrapped in a tarp

This discovery led to Britany's arrest.

Armando was arrested the next day after he failed to meet with police to discuss his wife's arrest.

Armando was charged with capital murder, while Britany was charged with three counts of falsifying physical evidence.

Armando Barron was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the first-degree murder of Jonathan Amerault, which occurred in September 2020.

He was convicted of forcing his wife, Britany Barron, to participate in the crime, including an alleged beheading after Amerault was shot.

Britany said that her husband assaulted her before Amerault's murder, giving her two black eyes, forcing a gun in her mouth, and attempting to choke her to death.

Her attorney, Richard Guerriero, insisted that she only took part in Amerault's murder because she thought her husband would kill her.

However, prosecutors argued that she had multiple opportunities to reach out for help but chose not to.

Britany Barron, who pleaded guilty to falsifying evidence, was sentenced to 3½ to 7 years in prison.

She was eventually granted parole last month after serving part of her sentence.

Amerault worked as a biomedical manufacturing engineer at Teleflex and enjoyed hiking and running.

His death shocked and devastated those who knew him, with friends expressing disbelief over the tragedy.
