Nanny Sexually Abuses 11-year-old Under Her Care and Gets Pregnant For Him: The Tragic Story of Marissa Mowry

Marissa Mowry, a former nanny in Florida, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2019.

This punishment is for the sexual abuse of Chris McBride when he was just an 11-year-old boy under her care.

This shocking incident not only altered the life of the young victim but also affected the lives of everyone involved, including Mowry herself.

In January 2014, Marissa Mowry was hired as a live-in nanny by a Florida family.

At just 22 years old, she was recommended by a relative who had previously employed her services.

The family quickly grew fond of Mowry.

Infact, the victim's mother, Nadean Campbell, described her as "almost a second daughter."

Sadly, this trust was shattered when Mowry began a secret and abusive relationship with Campbell's son, Chris McBride.

At the time, Chris was just an innocent 11-year-old who spent his days doing simple things he loved.

Unbeknownst to Campbell, while she believed she had found a caring caregiver for her child, Mowry was busy having sex with her son.

Over several months, prosecutors later revealed that Mowry sexually assaulted the boy at least 15 times without protection.

In the fall of 2014, she became pregnant.

She later gave birth to a child, who was eventually identified as the son of her young victim.

Initially, Campbell believed that Mowry's boyfriend was the father.

It wasn't until three years later that her son found the courage to disclose the abuse to her.

This revelation came as a devastating shock to Campbell.

She had trusted Mowry completely and had no idea that her son's childhood was being marred by such horrific events.

In 2017, after years of deception, Campbell took immediate action after learning about the abuse.

She contacted law enforcement authorities who quickly initiated an investigation.

A DNA test confirmed what they had feared: her son was indeed the father of Mowry's child.

During initial questioning by detectives, Mowry attempted to put the blame on Chris.

She claimed that the boy had forced himself on her.

However, investigators recorded a phone call between Mowry and her victim where she acknowledged that this was not true.

This evidence played a crucial role in building a case against her.

Mowry faced multiple counts of sexual battery against a victim under 12 and sexual battery while in custodial authority.

The gravity of these charges meant that she could have faced life in prison if convicted at trial.

Mowry ultimately accepted a plea deal that resulted in a 20-year prison sentence.

Chris McBride, now 21 years old, has taken on responsibilities far beyond his years.

He is now a father to a 10-year-old child whom he cares for daily.

Campbell reflected on how this experience has completely changed the course of her son's life.

He has had to sacrifice typical teenage experiences such as dating and socializing with friends due to his responsibilities as a young father.

As Campbell poignantly stated, "It cost him his childhood."

However, amid the heartbreak, she also recognizes his resilience and growth as a parent.

"He has become one of the most incredible dads you’ll ever meet," she said.

Nadean Campbell urges other parents to thoroughly investigate anyone who spends time with their children.

She also emphasized the importance of being alert to potential red flags.

This story is not just about punishment; it’s about understanding the long-term effects of such abuse on victims and their families.

Mowry is currently serving time for her actions and will be required to register as a sex offender upon release.

Also, the emotional scars left on her victim and his family will live with them forever.

In another case, a mother is suing an AI company, Character A.I.

She claims that a chatbot from the company played a role in her son taking his own life.
