In a chilling case that sent shockwaves across Middlesbrough, England, Ellis Dismore, a 24-year-old man, was sentenced to 43 years in prison for a series of heinous crimes.

His crimes include attempted murder and grooming multiple young girls online, as reported by BBC.

Background of the Case

According to the Cleveland Police, Ellis Dismore used fake online profiles to lure young girls into his web of deceit. 

Criminal investigations revealed that Dismore posed as a teenage boy named James Wilson.

He then befriended his victims and gradually coerced them into sending indecent images of themselves. 

When they refused, he would threaten to harm them and their families.

He basically blackmailed them into compliance.  

One victim described feeling like a “prisoner,” unable to escape Ellis Dismore’s control. 

Another shared how his manipulation left her with paranoia and anxiety. 

His predatory actions extended far beyond one victim.

Criminal investigations uncovered evidence of grooming and stalking across multiple cases.  

Cleveland Police uncovered the full scale of Ellis Dismore’s crimes when they searched his computer, finding evidence of abuse involving at least eight girls.

His actions demonstrated calculated cruelty, manipulating trust, before turning to threats and violence.

The Attempted Murder

On June 22, 2023, the horror escalated when Dismore attempted to murder a 15-year-old girl he had been grooming. 

Armed with a knife he had bought earlier that day, he ambushed her on Premier Road in Middlesbrough as she walked home from school.  

When Dismore saw her coming, he stopped her and pretended to need medical assistance. 

After recognizing his voice, she tried to run, but he chased her down and stabbed her five times in the back and chest. 

Her desperate screams were captured on nearby security cameras.  

Thankfully, a passing motorist stepped in, rescuing the girl and taking her to safety.

The victim later thanked the motorist for saving her life, saying, “I don’t know if I will ever get over everything he has done to me.”  

This disturbing attack revealed the true depth of Dismore’s depravity.  

Detectives quickly identified Ellis Dismore as the attacker, as he was captured on several cameras during the assault. 

He was eventually arrested and a forensic investigation of his computer uncovered his crimes.

Trial and Sentencing of Ellis Dismore

In January 2025, Teesside Crown Court sentenced Dismore to 43 years in prison, according to official reports. 

He was found guilty of attempted murder, inciting sexual activity with minors, distributing indecent images, stalking, and possessing a weapon.  

During the trial, the court heard gut-wrenching testimonies from victims, including the 15-year-old girl who narrowly survived his attack. 

Judge Timothy Stead described Dismore as “dangerous” and commended the bravery of the passing motorist whose actions prevented a tragedy.  

The criminal complaint highlighted how Dismore’s manipulation extended to creating fake social media accounts to gain his victims' trust before turning “nasty.”  

Debbie Breen, Head of the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO) Unit, remarked:  “Ellis Dismore is a dangerous and violent sexual predator who manipulated his young victims into sexual activity through fear and intimidation.

While Ellis Dismore serves his jail term, this case underscores the critical need for vigilance in online spaces, especially concerning children’s safety.
