A nursery worker in West London has been convicted of abusing 21 babies, including kicking a toddler in the face and stepping on his shoulder in a disturbing case that has left families traumatized.

Roksana Lecka, 22, from Hounslow, admitted to seven counts of child cruelty and was found guilty of 14 additional offenses at Kingston Crown Court, as reported by BBC.

The abuse took place at two nursery schools — Riverside Nursery in Twickenham and Little Munchkins in Hounslow —between October 2023 and June 2024

The disturbing incident came to light in June 2024 after staff at Riverside Nursery sent Lecka home for pinching children and looking “flustered.”

When police reviewed 45 hours of CCTV footage, they saw her repeatedly pinching, scratching, and even kicking the babies she was supposed to care for.

One of the most shocking incidents showed her kicking a young boy in the face multiple times before stepping on his shoulder.

She was also seen:
- Roughly dropping babies into cots
- Covering a toddler’s mouth to stop them from crying
- Vaping just a meter away from an infant

Lecka also confessed to detectives that she regularly smoked weed before her shift at work.

Prior to her arrest, some parents had reported unusual bruises and red marks on their children as early as March 2024.

Howeber, the full extent of the abuse wasn’t clear until the footage was examined by the local police department, as per Independent News.

"No parent should have to fear leaving their child in the care of professionals, but the sheer scale of her abuse is staggering," said Gemma Burns, Senior Crown Prosecutor.

Lecka was arrested on July 5, 2025, but during police questioning, she denied everything—even when officers showed her video evidence of what she had done.

Detective Sergeant Geoff Boye described her crimes as prolific.

"Footage showed Lecka carrying out multiple assaults on the children in her care, including repeatedly pinching and grabbing them. On one occasion, she delivered several kicks to a young boy’s face and stepped on his shoulder," she added.

Despite the overwhelming evidence, Lecka never explained her actions, leaving families devastated.

The case has caused public outrage, with local MP Munira Wilson calling for urgent changes to protect children in nurseries, including reviewing CCTV regularly in childcare centers.

"Every parent should know their child is safe when left at nursery. We must ensure tragedies like this never happen again," said Munira Wilson, the Liberal Democrat MP for Twickenham.

Lecka will be sentenced on September 26, 2025, at Kingston Crown Court.

Meanwhile, the affected families are receiving professional support to help them cope with the trauma.

One of the schools where the abuse happened, Riverside Nursery, has since shut down.

However, its parent company said that after inspections, authorities confirmed their other locations had "effective safeguarding arrangements."
