YouTuber Manuel Ruiz Charged with Murder in Fatal Shooting of Rival Content Creator on Las Vegas Strip
Las Vegas police have arrested 41-year-old Manuel Ruiz, a local YouTuber known as "Sin City MannyWise."
He is charged with two counts of murder for the fatal shooting of fellow content creator Rodney Finley and his wife, Tanisha Finley.

The tragic incident happened on June 8, 2025, near the Bellagio Fountains on the Las Vegas Strip, and Part of the shooting was captured during a live stream.

Rodney Finley, 44, ran a YouTube channel called "Finny Da Legend," which had over 6,000 subscribers.
He often featured his wife Tanisha in his content, showing their daily life and adventures in Las Vegas.
According to Finley's mother, the channel had recently become very popular, as per WSAZ.
"He just started the page and it blew up. He had no idea it would grow this fast," she told investigators.
Manuel Ruiz, who also had a YouTube channel, had been in an online feud with Finley in the weeks before the shooting.
According to the police, the two men had exchanged insults and threats on social media because if tgeir issues.
Finley’s mother also told police that Ruiz once said to her son, "I hope your mom has a black dress, because I’m going to kill you."

On the evening of June 9, 2025, Finley was live streaming with his wife near the Bellagio Fountains when the shooting happened
His mother, who was watching the broadcast, said that she called her son during the stream but he responded that he couldn't talk because he was live.
Moments later, she heard several gunshots before the stream suddenly cut off.
Other content creators told police that Ruiz had been looking for Finley in the area before the incident.
According to police reports and social media footage, Ruiz walked up to the couple near the fountains, pulled out a gun, and fired several shots at close range.
Ruiz later turned himself in to Henderson Police Department officers the following day.
During questioning, Ruiz said he acted in self-defense, claiming that Finley tried to reach for his waistband.
However, the police confirmed that no weapons were found on or near the victims..
The Clark County District Attorney's Office has strongly disputed Ruiz's self-defense claim.
"The evidence we've reviewed completely contradicts this assertion," said District Attorney Steve Wolfson. "There is no indication that the victims posed any immediate threat."

Ruiz made his initial court appearance on June 13 before Judge Amy Chelini.
During the hearing, Ruiz’s court-appointed lawyer asked for more time to see if he could hire a private attorney.
Ruiz waived his right to a preliminary hearing within 15 days, and the case was scheduled for a status check on July 3, 2025.
Also, prosecutors are currently reviewing the case to determine whether to pursue the death penalty.
Ruiz remains held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police have emphasized that this appears to be an isolated incident between individuals who knew each other, noting that the Strip remains one of the city's safest areas with millions of visitors annually.
