A violent incident happened at a McDonald’s in Eastpointe, Michigan, where a manager was killed after an argument with an employee.
Afeni Badu Muhammad, 26, is accused of stabbing her manager, 39-year-old Jennifer Harris, multiple times.
Harris, a mother of six, tragically died from her injuries, and Muhammad has now been charged with first-degree premeditated murder.
The tragic incident happened on the morning of Thursday, June 11, 2025, during Muhammad’s shift.
Police say she got into an argument with her manager, Jennifer Harris, who then told her to go home—something that had reportedly happened in the past.
Later that day, Muhammad allegedly came back through the employee entrance, wearing a mask and carrying a knife.
According to police reports, she then attacked Harris, stabbing her up to 15 times.
A brave customer in the drive-thru saw the attack and quickly stepped in to help.
He was legally carrying a concealed weapon, so he fired a warning shot in the air which stopped attack.
He then followed Muhammad as she tried to escape with a car and held her at gunpoint until police got there.
Sadly, Jennifer Harris, who had worked at McDonald’s for over 10 years, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Just one day before the incident, Muhammad posted a video on Instagram where she ranted angrily, and accused Jennifer Harris of bullying her at work.
“I got sent home early yesterday. I got sent home early today by the same person,” Muhammad said in the now-deleted video. “She’s a bully… She has no respect.”
The video showed growing tension, but no one could have expected the violence that followed.
“For a verbal dispute to turn into this is ridiculous,” said Eastpointe Police Lt. Alex Holish. “People have to learn how to resolve their disputes.”
Jennifer Harris was a mother of six, and her sudden death has left both her family and the local community devastated.
“My mama died trying to take care of us,” her daughter, Antonia Griffin, tearfully shared.
Prosecutor Peter Lucido called the crime “an absolutely senseless and heartbreaking tragedy.”
“A life was taken in an act of unimaginable violence,” he said. “Six young lives will now grow up without a parent,” he added.

Muhammad was arraigned on Friday, July 12, 2025, on charges of first-degree murder and carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent.
A judge entered a not guilty plea on her behalf and set her bond at a staggering $25 million, as reported by ABC News.
Her lawyer, Matthew Licata, said that more information will come out as the case moves forward.
“There are a lot of things that need to come to light regarding this matter,” he told The Associated Press.
Muhammad’s next court dates are a probable cause conference on July 23, 2025, and a preliminary examination on July 30.
Yusef Alcodray, the owner of the Eastpointe McDonald’s franchise, said he is deeply saddened by what happened.
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident, and our hearts go out to the victim’s family and loved ones,” he said.
While arguments between employees and managers are common, few expect them to end in suchbrutal violence.
