The search for 10-year-old Jayden Spicer, who vanished from his Breathitt County home on August 6, 2025, has ended in tragedy.
On Tuesday, August 13, 2025, Kentucky State Troopers discovered the boy’s body in a remote area off Canoe Road, nearly 20 miles from his home on Panbowl Branch Road.
According to Crime Online, Jayden’s mother,
Felicia Spicer, frantically knocked on a neighbor’s door in the early morning hours of August 6, crying and asking to use their phone.
“She was crying and asked if she could use my phone,” the neighbor recalled. “I gave it to her, and she called 911, telling them, ‘My child is missing.’”
Felicia told authorities that she and her husband had gone to bed around 9 p.m. the night before, only to wake up and find Jayden gone.
The boy was reportedly last seen wearing Sonic the Hedgehog pajamas.
For nearly a week, Kentucky State Police and volunteers combed through the area, hoping for any sign of Jayden.
The discovery of Jayden’s body has left the tight-knit Jackson, Kentucky community in shock.
Authorities have not yet released details on the cause of death or whether foul play is suspected.
According to police reports, Jayden had recently moved in with his mother after the passing of his great-grandmother, who had been his primary caregiver.
His mother Felicia Spicer has faced previous charges of child endangerment, though it’s unclear if this played any role in the investigation.
Kentucky State Police plan to hold a news conference soon to provide further updates.
For now, the focus remains on uncovering the truth behind this heartbreaking case.
