A trusted educator in Nebraska was arrested alongside her boyfriend for the alleged sex trafficking and grooming of a 16-year-old student.
Elizabeth “Jamie” Love, 36, a high school teacher, and her boyfriend, Jarid “Jack” Krause, 43, were taken into custody by Holdrege Police on Friday, October 24, 2025.
They each face one count of sex trafficking of a minor, and Love faces an additional charge of sexual grooming by a school employee.

The criminal investigation, began after the brave 16-year-old student came forward with disturbing allegations that her teacher was trying to arrange for her to have sex with her boyfriend.
According to an arrest affidavit, sighted by PEOPLE, the student had a long-standing relationship with Love, dating back to when she was in the seventh grade.
The bond extended beyond the classroom, and they communicated frequently about personal matters through text messages and social media.
However, the student claims that their relationship took a disturbing turn in August 2025.
In one incident, the student said she was in Love’s car when her boyfriend Krause called.
During the conversation, which the student could hear, Krause said that he wanted to have sex with Love, and the teacher then told the student she “would be willing to share” him.
According to police reports, the comment made the girl so uncomfortable that she immediately got out of the car and called a relative to pick her up.
The student claimed that another chilling incident happened on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
Love reportedly picked the victim up from her home and took her to the house she shared with Krause.
Once there, the affidavit states, Krause led the girl to an upstairs bedroom and made a request she understood as a proposition for sex.
The student refused, left the house, and began to walk home as reported by New York Post.
Security camera footage obtained by police shows Love following the student in her car before convincing her to get in for a ride home.
Text messages between the pair show Love pleading with the student to “come back and talk to me.” Later, Love apologized but then handed the student $100 in twenty-dollar bills while asking her not to tell anyone what had happened.
When questioned by police, Love claimed the money was not “hush money” but was intended to help the student buy a new phone.

During the investigation, the police obtained text messages between Love and Krause, which further implicated the couple.
The conversations reportedly showed the couple discussing the student as early as April 2025.
In messages from August, they seemingly planned to proposition the student for sex and see "if she's not feeling it." Additionally, the two discussed using a "code phrase" to gauge the teen's interest.
In one exchange, Love tells Krause she hopes the proposition "works out," and that, "if she doesn't want to, then I'll keep looking."
Another text from Krause reads, "We'll find the girl that appreciates us for what we are and provide. Someone who sees the value of our family and one that loves us both more than anything."
The Holdrege Police Department was first alerted to the situation on October 14, 2025, after the student reported the inappropriate interactions.
Love, who is a speech therapist, worked as a transition coordinator and teacher of the deaf for Educational Service Unit No. 11 (ESU-11), serving multiple schools in the region.
ESU-11 Administrator John Poppert confirmed that Love was placed on administrative leave as soon as officials became aware of the allegations.
“The ESU has cooperated fully with the Holdrege Police Department investigation,” Poppert said. “We will continue to work closely with law enforcement, and we thank them for their efforts in this matter.”
Love and Krause are currently being held in the Phelps County Jail, with bail set at $250,000 for each. If convicted, they face the possibility of life in prison and mandatory lifetime registration as sex offenders.
Authorities are urging anyone with additional information about Love or Krause to come forward. The investigation remains active, though police have stated they are not currently aware of any other victims.
The pair is scheduled for their first court appearance on Monday, October 27, 2025.
