A father’s decision to report a crime has led to a twisted tale of violence in Ferguson, Missouri, leaving two men dead and three others facing murder charges.
On October 29, 2025, a St. Louis County grand jury indicted three men in a shocking double homicide plot.
Authorities allege that they conspired to kill a man who reported an alleged rape, before they killed the very hitman they hired to do the job.

The story begins on July 8, 2025, when Ferguson police responded to a call of a shooting at a home on Bayview Drive, as per KSDK News
There, they found a man, Kcoree Warren dead, after he was shot through the glass door of his own residence.
According to prosecutors, Warren was killed because of an incident which happened on March 21, 2025.
That day, Lavor Harmon, then 18, met a 15-year-old girl as she walked home from her school bus, and the two exchanged phone numbers.
Harmon later picked her up, took her shopping, and then to a home where he engaged in sexual activities with her.
Kcoree Warren, who is the father of the victim, learned of the incident and reported it to police, leading to charges of statutory sodomy and statutory rape against Lavor Harmon.
Ten days after the charges were filed, Harmon’s sister, Lavonda Harmon, went to Warren’s home with an unidentified man and offered him $12,000 to drop the case.
However, Warren refused the bribe as his silence was not for sale, so, prosecutors allege that a more permanent solution was found.
On July 8, an associate of the Harmon and Young family, identified as Andrew Klaus, shot and killed Warren in his home.
Later that same day, Klaus was also found killed, and a white Kia seen fleeing Warren's shooting was discovered destroyed by fire.
Despite the desperate cover up attempts, a grand jury has indicted Lavor Harmon, Anthony L. Young, and Anthony D. Young for the crime after a four-month investigation involving multiple agencies.
Anthony L. Young is Lavor Harmon’s uncle, and Anthony D. Young is his father.
The three face a total of six charges, including two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of both Warren and Klaus, armed criminal action, and evidence tampering.
Additionally, Lavor Harmon still faces the additional original charges of statutory sodomy and rape.
Authorities emphasize that while the three men worked together and were present for both murders, it is not currently charged as a murder-for-hire case, though that could change.
St. Louis County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney John Schlesinger stated the three men “orchestrated these murders by acting together and with others."
The case has left deep scars on the community and the families involved.
To his neighbors and friends, Warren was a pillar of his community. His best friend, Joryn Parker, said he was “like a brother to me and he was the best person on Earth.”
His neighbor, Hugh Dubberly, shared similar sentiments. “He was a really good dad, I couldn't ask for a better neighbor,” Dubberly recalled. “He was a super nice guy, took care of his kids, and took care of his house. Every Thanksgiving, he'd bring me dinner over, and he cut my grass for me, front and back.”
Dubberly was home the day of the murder and described the chilling moments. “Next thing I know, I heard about 4 or 5 gunshots. Then I saw him running across my yard into a car, and they took off. I looked over and saw his door glass all broken out,” he said.
Ferguson Police Chief Troy Doyle called it “probably one of the most senseless acts of violence that our region has seen this year.”
He and other officials praised the collaborative investigation. “This investigation and the apprehension of these three defendants is a result of the hard work of combined police agencies,” said St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Melissa Price Smith. “We are confident that these defendants will be held accountable.”
Captain Tim Harris, head of the Ferguson detective bureau, shared that his team has stayed “very close to the victims,” adding, “They’re doing as well as they can after losing their father and the one being a victim of the sexual assault.”
Warren’s family has not returned to the Bayview Drive home since the shooting.
For neighbor Hugh Dubberly, the memory is inescapable. "I would have never thought something like this would happen around here. I try to forget, but I can't," he said. His thoughts now turn to justice. "They took a person's life, a person who was trying to do right, and they killed him for it. So they should have to pay too."
Lavor Harmon is being held in St. Louis County on a $2 million bond. Anthony L. and Anthony D. Young are in federal custody on unrelated charges, with bonds for these murders also set at $2 million each.
Lavonda Harmon was charged earlier this year with witness tampering for her role in offering the bribe.
