Former Michigan Doctor Oumair Aejaz Sentenced to Up to 60 Years for Secretly Recording Women and Children

On December 2, 2025, a former Michigan doctor, 41-year-old Oumair Aejaz, was sentenced to 35–60 years in prison. 

This is coming after investigators uncovered thousands of secret recordings involving women, children, and even his own family members in his possession. 

The sentencing took place in the Oakland County Sixth Circuit Court, where the courtroom heard emotional statements from victims who described the deep harm caused by Aejaz’s actions.



The criminal case against the doctor began in August 2024, when Aejaz’s wife reported him to authorities.

She reportedly found videos of herself, their two young children, and several female relatives and according her, all of them had been filmed without their knowledge.

Her report led investigators to search the home, where they uncovered a massive collection of recordings dating back six years. 

According to police reports, detectives found 6 computers, 4 cell phones, 15 hard drives, and in one hard drive  there were over 13,000 illegal videos of minors and women.

Authorities later discovered that Aejaz had also placed a hidden camera inside the Goldfish Swim School in Rochester Hills, where he recorded children and parents while they changed out of wet swimsuits.

Investigators also found recordings of patients and children in medical settings, which Aejaz accessed using his position as a doctor.

Sheriff Michael Bouchard called the crimes absolutely unconscionable.

“The exploitation of women and children—especially in some cases when he used his trusted position as a physician—is absolutely unconscionable,” he said.




In October 2025, Aejaz pleaded no contest to 31 charges, with no promise of leniency, according to official records. He was eventually was convicted of:
  • 2 counts of First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct
  • 3 counts of Second-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct
  • 4 counts of Child Sexually Abusive Commercial Activity
  • 13 counts of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime
  • 9 counts of Capturing or Distributing an Image of an Unclothed Person

Prosecutor Karen D. McDonald said the sentence ensures he will never harm another person again. “The damage he inflicted upon his victims will not go away with this resolution,” she said. 

During the sentencing hearing, several victims delivered emotional statements. 

One woman who discovered she and her child were recorded at the swim school confronted Aejaz directly, saying:

“Stop looking at the ground, you coward… Look at me when I speak to you.”

She described how he hid a camera at the bottom of those changing rooms, and recorded moms, parents, dads, aunts, uncles, grandmas with their kids during vulnerable moments.

Another woman said Aejaz’s actions had shattered her sense of safety, and the judge agreed, calling his crimes “beyond words.”

Judge Anderson told Aejaz: “You have damaged so many lives… all I can do is put you in prison. I wish I could do more, but I can’t.”

On December 2, 2025, the judge sentenced Aejaz to 35–60 years, saying his conduct was “incomprehensible.”

Aejaz declined to speak during the hearing, while Sheriff Bouchard praised the detectives and digital forensics team for uncovering the massive amount of evidence that made the sentence possible.

Authorities confirmed they are still looking into possible assaults and illegal recordings at other medical facilities in different Michigan counties. More charges may be filed as investigators review the remaining footage.
