A man has been sentenced to 24 weeks in jail for engaging in a disturbing act involving mast*rb*ting to animal porn while holding a baby seagull according to Mail Online.
David Lee, 40, was caught on CCTV in Sunderland, capturing the seagull and taking it to a back alley. There, he proceeded to pull down his trousers and engage in masturbation, while watching animal po*n with the bird placed between his legs.
At South Tyneside Magistrates' Court, Lee was promptly handed a 24-week jail term and banned from keeping animals for 10 years.
Lee, who resides on Roker Avenue in Sunderland, had previously admitted to causing unnecessary suffering to the herring gull during the incident that occurred around 1 am near Gladstone Street.
Described as a heavy drinker with an unstable personality disorder, Lee placed his phone on a box in the alleyway and engaged in the sexual act with the seagull. He then proceeded to kick the baby bird away.
Lesley Burgess, the prosecutor, described the incident as a deliberate and gratuitous act that caused suffering.
The CCTV footage revealed Lee holding a seagull in his arms in the back alley. He then took his phone out, placed it on a box, pulled down his trousers, and knelt down, engaging in a clear act of masturbation.
The seagull was between his legs during this time. After finishing, Lee put the seagull down, gave it a small kick to shoo it away, and walked off in the opposite direction.
Initially, he tried to convince the police that he had found the bird and picked it up because it was injured, using his phone to find a vet. However, the police discovered that Lee was accessing animal porn on his phone during the incident.
The court received expert evidence from a vet, indicating that the bird suffered unnecessary harm due to the defendant's actions.
A victim statement was also read in court, expressing the mental stress and anxiety caused by witnessing the offense on CCTV.
The woman hopes that the sentence will bring justice for the defiled bird and serve as a deterrent to others who might consider animal abuse acceptable.
During the proceedings, Annalisa Moscardini, Lee's defense attorney, mentioned his heavy drinking habits and blackouts.
She explained that while he accepted his actions, he had a limited recollection of the event due to his condition.
A psychiatric report revealed that Lee suffered from an unstable personality disorder and was detached from reality. It was also noted that he was a pathological liar whose lies had no purpose.
Angela Thompson, the chairperson of the bench, emphasized that the act was a deliberate attempt to cause suffering, resulting in a high level of harm inflicted upon the animal.
