In a suburb of Accra, Ghana, specifically Ablekuma Fanmilk, a police officer lost his life during an attack on a bullion van.
Disturbing videos circulating on social media capture the incident, revealing members of the public rushing to aid the gravely wounded officer, who was rescued from the back of a pickup truck.
Tragically, the officer succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
According to reports, the attack occurred when the bullion van made a stop at a fuel station, presumably to refuel.
It was during this moment that the assailants targeted the vehicle.
Fortunately, the driver of the van managed to escape unharmed.
In response, the Ghana Police Service has initiated a manhunt to capture the gang of robbers responsible for the attack on the bullion van and the resulting loss of the police officer's life.
In an official statement, the police declared their commitment to apprehending the four-member gang.
"Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family of our fallen colleague and to all members of the Police Service," the statement expressed.
Additionally, it reassured the public of their determination to bring the robbers to justice.
