TikTok Post Seals Fate: Ex-Boyfriend Murders Young Ghanaian Woman

In a heart-wrenching incident, a 23-year-old Ghanaian woman named Felicia Abena Oparebea was brutally murdered by her ex-boyfriend, Godwin Darko, aged 25, following their breakup.

The horrifying event took place in Trom Junction-5, a suburb of New Juaben South Municipality, on Saturday, June 17, 2023, just five days after Oparebea had posted on TikTok, expressing her determination never to return to her former partner.

According to reports, Oparebea, who worked as a bar attendant, had moved to Trom Junction approximately a year ago due to threats made by Darko when she ended their relationship. Despite her efforts to move on, the suspect persistently harassed her.

On that fateful day, Darko paid an unwelcome visit to Oparebea's new residence while a naming ceremony was taking place. It is alleged that he forcefully silenced her cries for help by gagging her and proceeded to slit her throat in a chilling act of violence.

After committing the heinous crime, Darko scaled over the wall, disposed of the murder weapon, and fled from the scene. Later in the evening, he surrendered himself to the police while wearing a red shirt with the words "Rest In Peace" inscribed on the back.

The police arrived at the scene, documented the crime scene, and retrieved the lifeless body. They subsequently transferred it to the morgue for further examination. 

The police also accompanied the suspect to the crime scene the following afternoon in an attempt to locate the knife used in the act, but their search proved unsuccessful.

Incensed by the tragic incident, some enraged members of the community gathered at the scene, expressing their fury and threatening to harm the suspect. 

In response, the police swiftly escorted the suspect away in a taxi to ensure his safety.
