Boston Police Arrest Suspect Who Shot And Killed Diva Ayuso in Massachusetts

Boston police have apprehended a young man responsible for the fatal shooting of a beloved mother in Massachusetts.  Stepheon Wells, a 20-year-old resident of the South Boston neighborhood, was arrested on Friday near 26 Hemenway Street, which is located just a short distance east of Fenway Park, according to authorities.

Law enforcement officers responded to the crime scene in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood on February 18, where they found Diva Ayuso, a 32-year-old resident of Sharon, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ayuso's obituary described her as a "loving," "beloved," and "devoted" individual. Her uncle, Abiezer Ayuso, expressed his shock over her murder in a report by Boston 25 News on June 19, shortly after police identified Wells as the suspect.

The family, unaware of the defendant's identity, is seeking answers as to why this dedicated mother lost her life. According to Ayuso's uncle, her 12-year-old son has been left shattered by the loss of his mother.

He expressed the heartbreak of knowing that the young boy will have to face the rest of his life without her. The family is grappling with the question of what justice looks like in this devastating situation.

Ayuso was an employee of the Massachusetts Environmental Police, as reported by NBC Boston. Col. Shaun Santos, the agency's head, expressed his condolences and described her as a dedicated team member and a great colleague. Ayuso had received a "citation for outstanding performance" in 2022.
