Christian Bey, the individual who was found guilty of shooting an off-duty Pittsburgh police officer in 2019, has been sentenced to life in prison.
After a single day of deliberation in April, a jury convicted Bey of first-degree murder for killing Pittsburgh Police Officer Calvin Hall.
During the sentencing on Monday, the family of Calvin Hall was present in the courtroom as a judge handed down a life sentence without parole for Christian Bey, the perpetrator of the 2019 murder of the off-duty police officer.
Following Bey's guilty verdict in April, his defense attorneys expressed their intention to pursue an appeal.
However, during the court proceedings on Monday, neither Bey nor his attorneys made any statements on his behalf before the sentencing.
On the other hand, Hall's family members took the opportunity to speak.

Louella Hall-Carter, Hall's mother, addressed the judge, expressing the family's difficulties since losing Calvin and emphasizing his kindness and love, which will be greatly missed.
Hall's father, Curtis Hall, echoed the sentiments shared by his wife in April, stating that it had been a long and challenging battle, but justice had prevailed.
He expressed gratitude that the evidence presented during the trial revealed the truth and emphasized that Calvin is deeply missed.
Angel Warren, Hall's fiancée, was also present in the courtroom but was too emotional to read her statement aloud.
Instead, prosecutors read a letter written by Warren, in which she expressed that while the sentencing cannot bring back her fiancé, it will prevent the defendant from causing similar pain to another family.
She believed that Bey should spend the rest of his natural life in prison.
Christian Bey received a mandatory life sentence for the murder conviction.
His defense attorneys were not available for comment following the hearing.
