In a distressing incident in Mnarani, Kilifi County, Kenya, a county chief officer named Rahab Karisa, 30 years old, was allegedly stabbed to death by her house help.
The tragic event occurred on the morning of July 20, 2023, following an argument between Karisa and the house help.
An autopsy conducted at the Kilifi County Hospital on July 21 revealed that Karisa suffered a deep cut that pierced her artery and partially affected her lungs, leading to her untimely demise.
Karisa's husband, Maxwell Mmera, provided further details, stating that the cut was 13 cm deep below her scapula, directly penetrating the artery and part of the lungs, causing her to bleed to death.
Shockingly, the incident happened just two days before Karisa's 31st birthday, which was scheduled for July 22.

Kilifi County Police Boss, Fatuma Hadi, confirmed the incident and assured everyone that investigations are in progress.
She disclosed that the house help disappeared after the stabbing and is now being looked for by the authorities.
Hadi expressed confidence in the availability of crucial leads that would eventually lead to the suspect's arrest.
According to a private guard present during the incident, the house help fled with the deceased's child, escaping over the perimeter wall when security officers arrived for their morning duties.
Hadi dismissed rumors that the suspect committed suicide, clarifying that the body found hanging from a tree in Takauku belonged to a different individual, not the house help.
The fatal argument between Karisa and the house help allegedly occurred due to financial matters while Karisa was away on a trip to Italy.
A family member disclosed that Karisa confronted the domestic worker regarding her excessive spending, and exceeding the agreed budget, which led to a quarrel and ultimately the fatal stabbing.
Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung'aro praised Karisa's hard work and dedication, demanding swift action from the police to identify and apprehend the culprit.
Overwhelmed by grief, the governor canceled a media briefing he had planned and instead issued a press release honoring Karisa's memory.
Mung'aro assured the family of the devolved unit's support during the burial arrangements and extended prayers for strength and courage to cope with their loss.
