Drug Addict Arrested for Allegedly Killing His Prophetess Mother

A man named Samson Sikiru has been apprehended for the alleged murder of his mother, who was a prophetess, in the Itanrin Axis of Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. 

The 32-year-old suspect is accused of strangling his mother to death in the early hours of Sunday, July 16, 2023. 

The incident was reported to the Ijebu Rewa Organization after Samson's younger brother, who was on night shift, discovered the tragic event upon returning from work.

According to neighbors, Samson had been absent from home for over five years and only recently returned about a month ago. 

During his absence, his mother had frequently complained to neighbors and authorities about his drug addiction.

An anonymous neighbor shared with Ijebu Rewa that Samson approached him in the early hours of Sunday, claiming that his mother, the prophetess, had collapsed and died. 

However, upon closer inspection by the neighbors, it became evident that the mother had been strangled to death, with marks visible on her neck and leg, and her left hand broken. Bloodstains were also found on Samson's fingernails. 

The neighbors restrained him while he professed ignorance about the incident, but it became apparent that Samson had committed the heinous act while under the influence of hard drugs.

This tragic event has brought sadness to the community in the Itanrin axis of Ijebu-Ode. 

Samson has been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, and the mother's body has been taken to the morgue for further investigation.
