A man who was driving under the influence of drugs and on the wrong side of the road has been sent to jail for causing a tragic accident.
The dreadful incident took the lives of two innocent people, a 44-year-old dad named John Woodcock and his little 2-year-old son, Lewis.
They were on their way home after visiting family when the disaster struck.
James Gibson, the 31-year-old driver of an Audi, crashed into their vehicle from the side on Chesterfield Road North in Pleasley, shortly after 6 pm.
Their car flipped and got stuck between another car and a wall.

Gibson was recklessly driving on the opposite side of the road, speeding, and had taken drugs before getting behind the wheel.
He even ignored red lights and dangerously passed other vehicles.
Nottingham Crown Court dealt with Gibson's case on Monday, July 24, where he pleaded guilty to two counts of causing death by dangerous driving.
He was sentenced to 12 years in prison and banned from driving for 18 years.

Caroline Westbrook, John and Lewis' mother and wife, expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported her during the past year.
She especially thanked the people who tried to help on the night of the tragic accident, including innocent bystanders, police, ambulance crews, and medical staff at Kingsmill Hospital and Queens Medical Centre.
Despite the outcome not being what she hoped for, Caroline acknowledged that these caring individuals did their best for her boys.
She also gave special recognition to the amazing ambulance staff who were there for her during that difficult time.
With the sentencing now over, she hopes her beloved boys can finally rest in peace, and the family can start to heal from this devastating loss.
