Man Accused of Strangling His Mother, Putting Her Remains In A Freezer, And Stealing Her Money For His Dj Business
An Arkansas man, Raymond Martin Jr., is facing serious charges after allegedly strangling his mother, Nancy Glover-Warren, and concealing her remains in a freezer. Shocking details emerged as authorities investigated the case, revealing a disturbing series of events.
Martin is accused of faking social media posts to create the illusion that his mother had relocated to Hawaii, while draining a significant amount of money from her bank accounts to fund his wedding DJ business.
The Faulkner County Detention Center is now holding Martin, who faces charges including capital murder, abuse of a corpse, forgery, fraudulent use of a credit/debit card, and theft of property. The discovery of Nancy Glover-Warren's frozen remains came to light on June 24 when Conway police responded to a welfare check request at the home they shared.
Family members became suspicious after receiving messages from her phone number, claiming she had moved to Hawaii and retired there. However, authorities found the messages to be fake and inconsistent with the circumstances.
Further investigation revealed that Martin had forged a check in his mother's name and created fake posts on her Facebook account.
When confronted by police about her death and the freezer containing her body, Martin admitted to killing her. He cited a troubled relationship, alleging that she had become violent and pushed him.
Martin described choking her until she lost consciousness and eventually died. He then confessed to using her debit card for purchases and cash withdrawals, explaining that he relied on her accounts to sustain their home.
Martin's arraignment is scheduled for August 14, and he has not yet entered a plea.
