Man Kills And Dismembers Football Player's Body, Police Hunt For Suspect

A manhunt is underway in southwestern Brazil after a horrifying murder that involved the shooting and decapitation of a young soccer player. 

Hugo Skulny, 19, was allegedly killed by Danilo Alves, 19, after Skulny discovered Alves sleeping with his ex-girlfriend, Rubia de Oliver, 21, at her home in Sete Quedas, near the Paraguay border.

Civil Police investigators launched the manhunt after finding blood at both de Oliver's residence and a farm owned by Alves' father near the Iguatemi River, where the majority of the victim's remains were later recovered. The police and forensic team reconstructed the crime scene at de Oliver's home, shedding light on the brutal murder that occurred in the early morning of June 25.

According to reports, Skulny had been missing for seven days following a party in the Paraguay city of Pindoty Porã. 

Surveillance cameras captured Skulny breaking into de Oliver's house, adding to the complexity of the case. A retired teacher described the crime as monstrous, emphasizing the cruelty of both shooting and decapitating the young victim.

De Oliver, who had a prior romantic relationship with Skulny, claimed that he forcefully entered her residence and discovered her with Alves. In an altercation that ensued, Alves allegedly shot Skulny. 

De Oliver's lawyer stated that she was taken by surprise when Skulny broke in and did not witness the moment Alves fired the shots as he was behind her.

De Oliver testified that another individual named Manhino was present in another room during the incident. She stated that Alves and Manhino removed Skulny, who was still alive at the time, and transported him in her vehicle to the river, where they disposed of the body. 

Manhino, who was questioned by the police but not arrested, claimed that Alves coerced him into helping with the body removal and disposal.

A police officer revealed that Skulny was shot three times and the suspects used instruments to conceal the body. Skulny, a college freshman studying physical education, was also a player for the local club called Projetinho. His cousin expressed how he was passionate about soccer and aspired to join a prominent team in the future.
