Six Individuals Apprehended for Gang Rape in Anambra State, Nigeria


Six individuals identified as Afam Ezenwa, Chijioke Ifeanyi, Collins Obadom, Abuchi Okechukwu, Chima Obiekezie, and Sunday Okafor have been captured for their alleged involvement in the gang rape of a 19-year-old girl in Anam, Anambra State, Nigeria

The incident occurred a few days ago in the Anam community, Anambra West Local Government Area. 

The suspects, aged between 16 and 27, reportedly ambushed the victim and forced her into a room where they took turns to rape her. 

The state Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, collaborated with security operatives to apprehend the suspects and rescue the victim. 

The suspects have been transferred to the state Criminal Investigative Department of Police in Awka, where they will face charges in court. 

The victim provided a detailed account of the incident during interrogation, revealing that she was filmed during the assault. 

The mother of the victim expressed concern for her daughter's safety and urged the state government to take the case seriously.
