A terrible incident occurred in Edgware, leading to a murder investigation.
It happened around 1:05 am on Friday, 28th July, when the police received reports of a man being stabbed on Whitchurch Lane.
Both the police and emergency services rushed to the scene, including London's Air Ambulance and the London Ambulance Service. Despite their efforts, the 19-year-old victim, identified as Stefan Valentine Balaban, tragically lost his life.
The authorities are yet to officially confirm his identity, but his family has been notified and is receiving support from specially trained officers.
On Saturday, 29th July, a post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place.
The investigation is being led by detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command, and they are actively pursuing leads.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, heading the case, expressed condolences to Stefan's family and promised to bring the culprit to justice.
This incident has deeply affected the local community, and officers will remain present in the area to address any concerns.
To help with the investigation, the police are urging anyone who was present at the time of the incident to come forward.
They are particularly interested in speaking with drivers who might have dash cam footage from the area.
