A tragic incident took place at Santa Maria Washing Bay in Accra on Thursday, July 6, 2023, where a man lost his life after being stabbed by his friend during a dispute over a stick of cigarette.
The deceased, known as Joe but popularly referred to as Al-Qaeda, had gone to purchase two pieces of King Size cigarettes in the company of his friend, known as Bhim.
An argument arose between them regarding the ownership of one of the cigarettes, leading to a heated quarrel.
Blogger Sika Official shared the details, stating that Al-Qaeda was stabbed with a pair of scissors, resulting in his untimely death as he refused to give Bhim a stick of cigarette.
The account provided by resident Shawn P, who spoke to Adom News, supports the report.
Shawn P explained that when they rushed to intervene and separate the fight, they discovered that both Al-Qaeda and Bhim had weapons – Al-Qaeda had a knife, while Bhim held a pair of scissors. The two men ended up stabbing each other during the altercation.
Al-Qaeda, who suffered multiple stab wounds, was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. A distressing video shared by Sika Official captures the aftermath of the incident, showing the lifeless body of the deceased covered in blood. In the video, a female resident can be heard expressing concern for his condition, while another person laments their inability to prevent the tragic outcome.
