Downtown Seattle Shooting: 18-Year-Old Woman, Neiana Allen-Bailey Has Been Accused of Fatally Shooting An Uber Driver

An 18-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing an Uber driver and father of two in downtown Seattle.

Neiana Allen-Bailey is accused of randomly approaching Amare W. Geda, shooting him, and then fleeing in his Toyota Prius, leaving him fatally injured on the street.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday near First Avenue South and South Walker Street.

Allen-Bailey is currently held at the King County Correctional Facility with a bail set at $2 million.

Details from court documents reveal that she allegedly admitted to shooting Geda during a physical altercation, and claimed to have used his Prius for two days, driving around various parts of Seattle.

She went visiting her family in Skyway, then spent time in Rainier Beach smoking marijuana. After that, she got her hair done in Kent, and refuelled the car for $20 at a car wash in Renton.

She has since been arrested by authorities in Seattle.

Geda, was remembered as a dedicated father, churchgoer, and hardworking family man, during a vigil organised for him.

The Seattle Rideshare Drivers Association highlighted that Geda had been working two jobs for 14 years to support his family, and they emphasised on the importance of rideshare drivers' safety within the city.

This incident marks the second killing of a rideshare driver in Seattle within the last six months.

Uber has expressed sadness over the incident. They condemned the act of violence, and they are cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation.

The company extended their sympathies to Geda's family during this challenging time.
